Coach Pete enters his fourth season as a member of the Pirate staff. In 2004, Pete was the Head Coach of our 8th grade junior Pirate team. In 2005, he assisted with the freshman team. In 2006, he moved up to the varsity level as a varsity assistant. His primary responsibilities are coaching the hitters, first basemen, organizing stretching and calisthenics, and overseeing lifting/conditioning throughout the program. A 2003 graduate of Pewaukee High School, Pete earned three varsity letters in football, and three more in baseball. The football team won its first conference championship in decades during his senior season. He was twice All-Conference at linebacker and once at running back. In baseball, Kowalski played for Coach Dobberstein for three years, leading the team to a conference championship in 2002 and a then school record 24 wins in 2003. He was 1st Team All-Conference two times as an infielder. Coach Pete set a number of PHS Baseball records during his career. His magical junior season included a batting average of .476 and an on-base percentage of .606 (both school records at the time). Coach Pete is currently finishing school at UW-Oshkosh, where he has been a member of both the baseball and football teams in different years.
