Nate George
Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach George returned to the Pirate staff last summer after a 5 year absence, and it was wonderful to have him back in the fold.  From 2001 to 2005, Coach George served as a varsity assistant for the Pirates and as the program’s pitching coach.  In 2006, Coach George departed and became the pitching coach at NCAA Division 3 Carroll University.  He has also coached football and varsity hockey, presently serving as a varsity assistant hockey coach at Marquette High.  Coach George was a standout prep athlete at Niagara Wheatfield High School in Niagara Falls, NY.  He played football, hockey, and baseball there.  In baseball, Coach George was twice named first team All-Western New York and was also twice named second team all-state.  As a senior, he was named the Western New York Player of the Year.  In 1994, he was selected as the starting pitcher for the Western New York team in the New York State Olympics.  Following high school, Coach George earned a scholarship to play baseball and from 1995-1999 was a college teammate of Coach Adam Dobberstein’s at Evangel University in Springfield, MO.  There, he was a member of the starting rotation all four years, posted 24 career collegiate victories, and was a member of the all-conference team on two occasions.  He also holds the single season record for appearances by a pitcher.  Coach George is a teacher in Milwaukee, is married to wife Kate, and they live in Milwaukee with their son, Hudson and daughter, Harper.
