Coach Marc (we call him that to avoid confusion) enters his tenth season as a coach for the Pirates.  In 2010, he will serve as “Co-Head Coach”, and will be responsible for coaching third base and making most of the game day decisions for the Pirates.  In 2008, he was named the State of Wisconsin “Assistant Coach of the Year” by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association.  In high school, Dobberstein was a member of the Varsity Baseball team during all four years at Hamilton.   He was twice a member of the Greater Metro Conference All-Conference team, earning 1st team honors as a senior.  He was also the 1st Team CNI All-Suburban Catcher as a senior. Like his brother, he played football in the great Hamilton program.  He was a three-year letter winner for the Chargers, and he started both ways (Offensive Tackle and Defensive End).  His teams qualified for the playoffs in each of his three seasons.  Then, also like his brother, he earned a scholarship to play baseball at Evangel University.  He started for the Crusaders from the get-go, and led them to a school record 30 wins as a freshman.  He was selected to the Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference team on two occasions while at Evangel.  Coach Marc is also an attorney and business owner.  He is married to wife Liz and they reside in Menomonee Falls with their two sons, Drew and Brooks.
