Adam Dobberstein enters his eleventh season as head coach of the Pirates. During his tenure at Pewaukee, the varsity squad has finished either first or second in the conference six times, and has posted a conference record of 126-77 (.620). In 2002 and 2008 Pewaukee won conference championships, and in 2005, the Pirates won just their second regional championship since 1972. During Dobberstein’s ten years at the helm, the Pirates have set new school records for wins in a season four different times. The most recent mark (27) came in 2008. In 2008, Coach Dobberstein was named the District Coach of the year by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association. The district is comprised of schools from the Woodland, Greater Metro, Classic Eight, and North Shore conferences. In 2011, Coach Dobberstein will again have the privilege of serving as “Co-Head Coach” with his brother, Coach Marc Dobberstein. Prior to coming to Pewaukee, Coach Dobberstein spent three seasons as the varsity assistant at Brookfield East High School. He attended high school at nearby Sussex Hamilton, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams. He had the privilege of playing for legendary Coach Stan Grove as a football player. The Charger football team won back to back conference championships in Dobberstein’s junior and senior seasons, and made runs deep into the playoffs both years. As a baseball player, Dobberstein was three times an all-conference selection and was bestowed with Conference Player of the Year accolades as a junior. The baseball team also won a conference championship during Dobberstein’s junior season. As a senior, he was the 1st team CNI All-Suburban Catcher. Dobberstein then earned a baseball scholarship to play at Evangel University (NAIA) in Springfield, MO. At Evangel, he helped the Crusaders to their first conference championship in school history and was again a member of the All-Conference team three times. Off the field, Coach Dobberstein is an attorney and business owner. He is married to wife Stephanie, and they reside in Pewaukee with their three boys; Logan, Carson and Owen. |
