Pewaukee Offense Erupts In Win Over Shorewood

Pewaukee capped off its regular season with a 16-9 win over Shorewood Saturday afternoon at Henry Aaron Field.

The Pirates jumped out to an 8-0 lead after 2 innings, only to see Shorewood rally and get within 1 run after 4 innings.  Pewaukee answered with 7 runs in the 5th to put the game out of reach.

Two freshmen and a senior led the offensive barrage.  Freshman 2B Logan Dobberstein went 3-4 with 5 RBI's and 2 runs, and freshman 3B Luke Sopha went 3-4 with a double a 2 RBI's.  Senior 1B David Bell went 3-5 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs.  

Four other players had extra-base hits for Pewaukee - sophomore SS Grant Ross (2B), senior RF Masen Beatty (2B), junior DH Quinn Berglin (2B), and junior LF Elliot Mueller (3B).  

Junior RHP Josh Cottrill threw two scoreless innings to open the game for the Pirates.  Freshman LHP Carson Hansen, senior RHP Paul Quartaroli, and Sopha all pitched as well.  Quartaroli earned the win on the mound.

Pewaukee finishes the regular season with a 21-5 record.  Pewaukee finished 8-4 in the Woodland West, good for second place behind Greendale.  The Pirate baseball program has now won 20+ games for 6 consecutive seasons.
